Mesothelioma
Mesothelioma is a rare form of
cancer that affects the stomach or chest, but
it could also affect the heart. The National Cancer Institute defines
malignant mesothelioma as "as a rare form of cancer in which cancer cells
are found in the sac lining the chest, the lining of the abdominal cavity or
the lining around the heart." To break up the term mesothelioma cancer further,
mesothelioma found in the abdominal cavity is known as
peritoneum mesothelioma,
malignant pleural mesothelioma is the most common and is a
cancer which is found in the lining of the chest, and
pericardial mesothelioma is found
in the lining of the heart (aka pericardium mesothelioma) and is the least
common form of mesothelioma cancer. People who develop mesothelioma cancer
have most likely worked in environments, where they inhale or swallow
asbestos particles. If you are working in the following occupations you need
to pay careful attention to your body Brake Mechanics, metal plate workers,
Insulators, plumbers, Boilermakers, shipyard workers, shipfitters,
electricians, maintenance workers, carpenters, gas fitters, or any
occupation where you are exposed to asbestos particles. |
